	A few words about Needle Felting: Needle felting is a fairly new and trending craft which is now being featured in a number of magazines, craft and decorating TV shows and fairs and on-line. It is very easy to master and it requires no previous craft experience. Girls, boys, women and men of all ages find it an easy, fun and, relaxing craft. With a little care and attention to your work, you will be amazed at the projects you can do. Cookie cutter shapes, appliqué patterns and coloring book pictures can easily be converted into a needle felted picture. Yarn, wire, and other decorations can be used to embellish your project. A wool ball can transform your work into a 3-D creation. It is much like painting and sculpting with wool. Let your imagination guide you and have fun! How it works: Wool fibers have a natural crimp and scales so that they can be easily spun and tangled together. Felting needles make the tangling process work faster and can be used to tangle fibers that are not as curly. The needles are very sharp and barbed so that layers of fiber are able to be inter-twined and tangled as the needle is moved repeatedly through the layers. Care should be used when needle felting so that you do not poke the needle(s) through your finger. You should always pay close attention to where your fingers are in relation to the needle and use a cushion underneath. Felting needles are not toys!; children should be supervised.

	Soft Touch Farm Needle-felting Classes: All classes include all the materials necessary to complete the project during class time and/or materials and instructions to complete the project at home. Supplies to make duplicate projects are available for purchase and selected items may be offered at a discount on the day of the class. Please call to schedule the class you want at a time convenient for you and/or your group. Class size 1-6. Larger groups can inquire about group rates. Prices are per student. If desired, additional studio time can be purchased and custom classes can be designed.

Introduction to Needle-felting	1 hour	$20	Learn the basics of needle felting and create a couple of simple projects to take home. Students can make a simple picture, an ornament in a cookie cutter, or they can make a flower such as a rose or a sunflower. A choice of needle-felting kits will be available after the class for students who wish to continue this craft at home.
Quick Rose Boutonniere	1/2 hour	$15	Use a felting tool to make a pretty wool rose that you can use as an everlasting boutonniere.
Sunflowers/Flowers	1 hour	$20	Learn how to use dry felting techniques (needle-felting) to make these woolen flowers
3-D Animal	1 1/2 hours	$20	Take a cookie cutter 4 legged animal to a third dimension. These felted anmals are not wired and pose-able; but they are cute!
Festive Garland	2 hours	$25	Make a 36 inch seasonal garland using shapes made from wool roving, twine, cookie cutters, a felting tool, and embellishments
Felted Picture	2 hours	$30	Combine wool batts and colored wool roving with a felting needle to make a unique 8x10 picture suitable for framing
3-D Gnome	2 hours	$25	Make a gnome (or Santa) using a variety of colored and natural wools and a felting needle
3-D Pose-able figure	2 1/2 hours	$30	Make a pose-able four legged animal using natural colored wools and wire. Pose-able people and fairies... could also be made.
Studio Time with Tools, and Guidance		$5 per hour plus wool	Students work with minimal or no instruction. You have access to a variety of tools, embellishments, wools, books and inspiration available in the shop.
“Ewe-nique” Sheep	2 hours	$25	Add wool legs, special wool roving or yarn, and cute embellishments to a wool ball to craft a sheep. These critters can be made entirely of wool from Sandwich sheep for a truly “ewe-nique” local gift.
Sitting or Sleeping Kitten or Puppy	2 hours	$25	Use wool alone or combine it with the combed-out hair of a beloved pet to make a one of a kind needle-felted sculpture. Sculpt a sitting or sleeping kitten or puppy that will fit into the palm of your hand. You may wish to bring a photo of your pet.
3-D Gnome/Santa/Nativity Figure	2 hours	$25	Make a gnome, Santa, or figure in a nativity scene using a variety of colored and natural wools. A felting machine is available to use to make the clothing. Arrangements and special pricing for a complete Nativity scene can be made.
Felted Duck or Loon	2 1/2 hours	$25	Sculpt a ball of wool into a realistic loon or duck (about 5 inches long) using natural colored wools and felting tools.
Wool Fairies and Nymphs	2 hours	$25	Using a variety of wool felting techniques, let your imagination take you into a fantasy land where they can make woodland fairies and/oir nymphs or trolls and a habitat for them.
Hamster, Mouse, Bunny, or Guinea Pig	2 hours	$25	Sculpt a “pet” out of a wool ball. These little guys are as cute and soft as the real thing, but they don’t bite or scratch, and no cage cleaning, food, water, or burial will ever be necessary. Students may bring a photo of a real pet that they would like to “clone” or they can create their own unique critter.
Design Your Own Class or Party for adults, children or whole familes	Varies		$15 per person for the first hour, $5 for basic maerials and a simple kit, and $5 per person each additional hour (studio time).

Once you know the basics, you can arrange to needle felt in the shop and make use of tools, books, fibers, and some guidance. You will have a variety of resources and you only pay for the materials you use. Studio time is also great for finishing a project and/or adding extra details. This is creative time for you with limited assistance. Folks are also welcome to bring kits that they have started and need help to finish.
